Repetitive movement of the skin by underlying muscles – frowning, smiling, furrowing your brow – causes wrinkles, says Dr Glogau. So does cumulative exposure to sunlight. UV rays damage collagen tissue, a crease forms and over time it becomes a wrinkle.
To help prevent those tiny lines, limit sun exposure and use a sun block of SPF 30 or higher daily. Also be aware of when you tense your facial muscles and try to relax them.
